Oklahoma continues to lag behind neighboring states in economic development. We currently have an average per capita income of $32,210 which ranks us at 37th in the nation. Our State's largest employer is still the State of Oklahoma. Oklahoma still ranks 34th among the states and D.C. in total exports. How do we improve?

We whine about the State of Oklahoma being the state's largest employer? Who should be? Rather than be indicative of a bloated state government, it seems to me that it shows a state government that responds to its citizens. I think a more telling figure is that we have virtually the same number of employees in state government that we had 25 years ago.
